Location of Nuclei can be easily remember with these stuff.

1st and 2nd Cranial Nerve lie in cerebellum.

3rd and 4th cranial nerve lie in Mid Brain.

5th, 6th, 7th, 8th Cranial nerve lie in Pons.

9th, 10th 11th, 12th Cranial nerve lie in Medulla.

Tit Bits About Cranial Nerve Nuclei

Lets move to another mnemonic or you would say a short cut.

Nucleus aMbigous : If your are still reading I know you would have heard the name nucleus ambigous. Now for your easiness, just remember the capital M in the word ambigous, that denotes the Motor activity of the nucleus. It is a MOTOR nucleus and all the BE containing craning nerves will be extending from there. Exception is for 5th and 7th cranial nerve.

Nuclues Solitarius: This is quite easy to remember. Here the S of Solitarius is obviously denoting about the Sensory Nuclie of cranial nerves. All of cranial nerves related to taste will be extending from there. That is cranial nerve 7th, 9th and 10th. Same from Main sensory nucleus and Spinal nucleus of V.

Optical nerve is actuallu extension of Diencephalon.

Cranial nerve 5 can be found on all cut sections of midbrain, pons and medulla.

DESI: This one focuses on the more random nuclei, if you may.
D- Dorsal Motor Nucleus of X; E- Edinger-Westphal nucleus; S- Superior salivatory nucleus of CN VII; I- Inferior Salivatory Nucleus of IX.
